I think you’re intentionally missing the point of the original comment. No one is criticizing you for being accomplished or proud of what you’ve built. It was your statement that you’ve “done more in four years than people do in their whole lifetimes” that rubbed people the wrong way. You’re 36, so surely you can understand why that might come across as dismissive of other people’s lives, regardless of whether you’re a man or a woman. Turning that criticism into a conversation about misogyny feels like a way of avoiding the actual point.

As a recruiter it actually drives me crazy how many women downplay their experiences in job interviews. It’s not arrogant to talk about your accomplishments! Esp in job interviews. I watched your video and I thought it was good representation for women on how to actually talk about achievements

This is such a logical fallacy and you know it. You’re doing the either or, false equivalency. just because someone pointed out that the way you phrase something is arrogant, that doesn’t automatically mean that they’re trying to put you down, they’re pointing out that while you can celebrate your achievements, you don’t have to knock someone down a peg. which is exactly what you did. You claim you did more than most people do in their lifetime in four years because you sold the business and also what is even the point of saying that to talk about your achievement? Let’s see even if your point was true what is the point of saying the average person doesn’t have to do what you did average people are exhausted and tired and economically not well so they’re not gonna do a lot of what you did. Be self aware of what you say can come off tone deaf . You’re also claiming that this person wouldn’t say this about a guy, but you have no idea if they feel this way about any person who would say this so again what is the point of bringing this up? It’s just a red herring.
