@tracie.phy: THIS WAS WENDY BEFORE SHE WAS SHOT. A Studio City resident shared this beautiful photograph of Wendy, taken approximately a year before she was shot. Look at her. Curled up peacefully on a porch. Healthy. Beautiful. Her face still intact. Simply trying to survive in a world that was becoming increasingly difficult for her. Wendy wasn’t a monster. She wasn’t something that deserved to be used for target practice. She was a living, breathing wild animal who had learned to exist alongside the people of Studio City. Many residents knew her. They watched for her. They cared about her. And when she became terribly sick, an entire community came together trying to save her. We now know that two pellets were lodged in Wendy’s head. The resulting infection caused devastating damage that ultimately left us unable to save her. Seeing Wendy like this—before the pain, before the swelling, before the infection—is heartbreaking. Someone took this beautiful life and changed its course forever. I hope people remember Wendy this way. Peaceful. Beautiful. Wild. And deserving of compassion. ❤️🐾 Rest peacefully, Wendy. You mattered. You were loved. And you will never be forgotten.
