At least you only got to the car before noticing the shoes. A friend didn't realise until she got to the bowling alley that she was wearing one white trainer and one brown knee high boot. Which she then had to hand in to exchange for the rental bowling shoes, and then collect again later. From 2 different staff members, of course.
