No. Ppl get really mad when you fall. It’s also really hard to enter the rink and safely get to the middle when everyone is going so fast on the outer edge .

No we don’t, and they deserve more leeway. We all started somewhere, likely stumbling everywhere like they are, so if you think they need to learn, then teach them, lead them, maybe even mentor them. Discouraging the possible next gen of great skaters just over a fall, or getting in the way a few times is crazy to me. The grudges in the skate community are so childish that we allow ourselves to take the smallest mistakes so personally and let it shape our entire view on that new/beginner skater.

Tbh I feel like shuffle skaters don’t fw jam/artistic skaters on the rink lol. If you’re not going 100mph on the edge they don’t want you there. I get so excited for slow sets cuz I can finally jam without the speed demons 🤣

Thankfully, I have a great skate community! I have a few people who actually WANT to help. However, I always try to be mindful that they didn’t come here to give me lessons during their entire skate session so, I am respectful of that also.
