@spaceaccordingtoskylar: First day as a postdoc: ✅ For those of you not familiar with this particular nonsense of academia, a postdoc is a position after your PhD where you can really hone in on research. The idea being you’re through with the training that comes in a PhD and you can be super productive without some of the other responsibilities you’d get as, say, a professor. My postdoc is a bit unique because it’s only half research; the other 50% of my time I’ll be running the outreach for my department! With moving and starting I’ve been taking a bit of a hiatus from posting, but don’t fret I’m back to chat science and life as a scientist! If you’re new here, welcome, and if you’ve been following for a while, welcome to a new chapter 😊 #astrophysics #postdoc #dayinthelife #scientist #womeninstem
