@the.corporatemullet: The part nobody really talks about is how much of adulthood is realizing you weren’t “too much.” You were editing yourself. Making yourself “easier to work with.” “Easier to manage.” At the same time you were becoming easier to overlook. Easier to keep exactly where you were. And once you see it, you really cannot unsee it. That’s the annoying part. Because then you start noticing every time you watered down an opinion, stayed quiet, said yes when you meant no, or convinced yourself you were asking for too much when you were actually asking for something completely reasonable. And yeah… that realization can piss you off. Good. Use it as fuel to rebuild and refine who you are. It’s hard but it’s worth it. Who needed to hear that tonight? 🙋♀️🫠
