Don’t you have to put oil? If yes, which oil? Olive? Coconut? Butter??? I always burn it[Crying]

Are you not putting oil in the pan then? I’m new to stainless steel cooking and crust on steak/chicken is what I’m trying to work on. I think I put too much avocado oil in the pan (I do bring the oil up to temp before adding meat). So was going to experiment with little oil, but this looks like maybe no oil?

For me it heavily depends on the meat/cut. For chicken and seafood I typically add a little oil but my steak cuts such as ribeyes (as shown) I add none bc it produces it’s own oil quickly

Balance Protocol :
“Crust” in steak is a BULL💩 notion. A nice Seer is what is needed only. Otherwise the meat is degraded.

🥩 That looks incredible! A little freshly ground pepper would make it even better!
