🇬🇭 GHANA MUST ASK ITSELF A DIFFICULT QUESTION: HOW CAN WE BUILD A GREAT NATION WITHOUT TAKING CARE OF THE PEOPLE WHO EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN? The recent teachers’ strike was about more than salaries. It brought attention to unpaid promotion arrears, allowances, and concerns about teachers’ conditions of service. Behind every classroom is a teacher with responsibilities, bills, family obligations, and dreams of their own. We expect teachers to shape the next generation, yet when their legitimate concerns remain unresolved, the entire nation feels the consequences. Think about the child sitting at home, the parent struggling to arrange childcare, and the teacher wondering when promised payments will arrive. Education is not just a government programme; it is the foundation of Ghana’s future. Now that the strike has been suspended, the real test is whether the commitments made will be fulfilled. Ending a strike is not the same as solving the problem. Ghana cannot afford to celebrate education in speeches while neglecting the people who make education possible. If we want better schools, we must take teachers’ welfare seriously. Do you agree? #GhanaEducation #TeachersMatter #GhanaNews
