soul reason I left my dad's house was because when I put myself on hormonal birth control when I was 16 because I had undiagnosed PCOS, he called me all sorts of nasty and derogatory things to my mother because I wanted to stop basically hemorrhaging and pushing out my entire uteruses cast every month. These men do not need a say in my health.

The man behind the creation of the pill knew that it would be difficult to get volunteers to take the pills because it could be seen as unnatural or unsafe to not have a menstrual cycle, so they added placebo pills which is not a menstrual cycle at all. It's hormonal withdrawal bleeding. It is in no way your body thinking it's pregnant, it most closely resembles the luteal phase in which an egg is not ripened and released. (Side note: you don't technically have a true luteal phase while on the bc pill, just a steady flow of the same levels of hormones to trick your body into not cycling/ovulating).

I have a question if we take our bcp without the placebo week we do t get our period because constant hormones right? So why doesn’t our period stop with a hormonal IUD (I know it does for some people but why not for everyone) isn’t that a constant hormone supply like bcp w/o placebo?
