vampire bats are the only bat species that can truly run, they have a pure blood diet, are one of the few venomous mammals (its not venom in the traditional idea), and are very social and affectionate with their colony. their blood diet is not a great source of food so they cant go two days without eating, thankfully bats in their colony will help ones who didn't find food last night by regurgitating blood into their mouth

I did a report on vampire bats in the 3rd grade and they hop on the ground to get to the ankles of their prey! sleeping cows are their favorite 🙃
