I heard you say “…I shelled out $2,000 to make this trip…..” THAT. My first game was the 1973 Texas game. We lost, of course. But 50 years later I’m sitting at the Auburn game, questioning why I was there. I contributed mightily to get decent seats. I paid for each seat for each game for several years. I paid to travel to each game. I paid a disgusting amount at the concession stand. I spent hundreds of hours in the pursuit of hoping the success of 18-23 yr olds would make me feel better about myself. The opportunity cost of missing out on other things that would be fulfilling. So, instead of everyone bitching about the state of affairs, how about 70,000 of you just stop going to the games? I’m pretty sure that would force some hands. Furthermore, HY is not the problem. This started and was fostered by Jeff Long/Julie Peoples.

Live in indiana. I'm excited to turn the game on for a big out of conference matchup. Every year. Hopeful they have found that edge, that give a damn, that never quit, never die, not today asshole mentality. it's not there and not a single coach has gotten through to the players. 3rd game each year, I'm just watching the big games and check box scores for hogs. I wait till basketball to get any real excitement for my home state school I have loved since a kid.
