It’s my best friend’s birthdayyyyy @Gisela Amponsah I genuinely don’t think I’ll be able to go through life without you in it. People really underestimate how important it is to have your person, but knowing that no matter what happens, you have that one friend who knows you, understands you and has genuinely been there through it all? That is such a blessing. And it’s honestly pointless to even mention the fights because we barely do 😭. We’ve grown together, experienced different versions of ourselves together, and somehow our friendship has always felt like one of the safest things in my life. This year, because of someone, my best friend actually started questioning herself, and I hated watching that. So I’ll keep reminding you as many times as I need to: you may make mistakes, because you’re human, but you are a genuinely great person. You love people well. You love with your whole heart. You care deeply, you feel deeply, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with being sensitive or emotional. The right people will never make you feel like your softness is something you need to get rid of. I’ve actually learnt so much about how to navigate my own emotions and how to handle other people’s emotions simply because you’re in my life. At this point, if I come across as emotionally intelligent, it’s because you are literally my longest-running case study 😭😂. I’ve had years of practical experience. You’re perfect to me. And yes, I mean that exactly how I said it. Everything you do is nice to me. Period. I’m always going to be slightly biased when it comes to you and I’m perfectly okay with that. You’ve achieved so much already, and I hope you really take time to look at your life and give yourself credit. I’m especially so proud of you and how beautifully ByyWomen is growing. Watching something that came from you become bigger and better is such a beautiful thing to witness, and I genuinely cannot wait to see you flourish even more. I hope this new year of your life brings you the kind of love that doesn’t make you question yourself, friendships that pour back into you, opportunities that scare you in the best way, moneyyyyy, peace, soft moments, beautiful memories and everything you’ve quietly prayed for. I hope you never shrink yourself to make anybody comfortable. I hope you never have to beg anyone to see how special you are. And I hope you always remember that even on the days when you don’t feel like yourself, there are people who know exactly who you are and will remind you. I’m so grateful that life gave me you. I’m grateful for every conversation, every laugh, every random rant, every ridiculous moment, every serious moment and every version of us that has existed.
