[Spoiler Warning] Angst with Gojo we’re so back. Honestly, what do you want me to say at this point. Gojo never had the chance to choose. He was born into the role of the strongest and died with it. His role was probably all the bad things happened to him for different reasons, even though I think he enjoyed it to a certain extent. He never had the chance to choose, so he chose for others. He did it for Megumi (kind of), he did it for Yuta and for Yuji. He tried to let them live a better life than the one he had to live, and he’s obviously always been selfless in this regard. He never got to choose, but he accepted his role and never stepped back. He held his principles close, he never refused to protect people—even non-sorcerers—even if he was annoyed by it. I think that’s one of the most interesting aspects of his character, to be honest: the fact that he always remained good, with a good heart, with the right principles and morality (even though his moral compass used to be someone else, which highlights how much he grew). He had every reason to become a villain and to exploit the power he had, yet he always chose to use it in the most morally correct way. Today my brother told me: “When you give someone power, you have to think about what’s the worst thing they could do with that power.” We weren’t (sadly) talking about Gojo, but it made me think of him regardless. Because even though no one gave him his power, everyone gave him his role, and he never did the worst thing he could’ve done with said role. I think the lyrics of this song fit so well because, as I always say, I don’t think Gojo wanted to die, but I think he was ready for it to happen in the final fight (and we even have some kind of proof, like the letter he left to the students). I don’t think he purposefully lost to Sukuna, but his death must’ve felt like a relief for him. He would’ve never ceased to be seen as the strongest, no matter what. It’s clear that he finds relief and satisfaction in his death, not only because he’s reunited with his loved ones, but also because of the way it happened. Dying by Sukuna’s hand was the only right option for him. I also think he considered dying in the battle because of choosing the same date as Geto. There’s something extremely intimate about sharing the same death with someone who was that important to you, especially when it’s not the exact same day (as in: in the same year), especially when you decide it. And that’s why I associated the last quote with him. It was cold (in a literal sense) when he died. But it can also be interpreted as the students having reached a level where they can take his place. I put him as a child in the first part because the song goes “I don’t wanna swim the ocean” (in my head, a person might say it before swimming the ocean), and then I put him as a teenager/adult because it goes “I don’t wanna swim forever” (here, in my head, the person has already started swimming and is kinda wishing to stop). I’ll let you connect the dots. Here’s your daily angst, and you know what? I didn’t kiss the brick, I’m not going to walk faster or run when I see y’all in public, the post button wasn’t optional. You all crave angst. I see you threatening me while reposting and saving my edits. It’s okay! You want it, I just deliver ;) Hope this won’t get muted lol [credit to andoorutsrx for the yt clip] #gojousatoru #jujutsukaisen #jjk #fyp #xybcafyp
