If it’s non profit they are required to offer help in exchange for tax exemption ( don’t get me started) and something like disproportionate share programs or something. Anyway this makes me so angry. I was helping a young person get financial assistance here in Massachusetts and we called they were super nice she filled out forms online and popped signed form in mail and they waived the whole bill. ( she had nothing and was let go from work she truly couldn’t pay). And that right there is why is ( generally) love my state and im happy to pay taxes just for that. It’s worth it when we can all live with at least the basics

That also seems like so much unnecessary work and burden added to the Medicaid office. Which slows processes down for everyone even more

It may be worth speaking to a patient advocate. You can let them know who you spoke with, and their piss poor policy and receiving financial aid and the steps of how to get it.
