London rents aren’t just high — they’re mathematically impossible. A studio at £3,000 and a 3‑bed at £5,000 means even a full‑time worker would spend 70–80% of their entire income just on rent. LHA doesn’t come close, UC doesn’t bridge the gap, and wages can’t stretch that far. This is why people end up in supported living — not because they need care, but because the housing market has priced normal people out of independence.
