@nypd: Twenty-five years ago, everything changed. This is dedicated to the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and to the lives we lost and continue to lose to World Trade Center–related illnesses. We will never forget. @sept11memorial @official_fdny

I sat in my kindergarten class. My mom worked on 52nd. We weren’t reunited until 10pm and it was the scariest day of my life but i am always grateful she walked over that bridge. I am forever grateful for the FDNY and NYPD for that day

The fact that only 14 states are required teach about this doesn’t sit right with me!!! My kids know about 9/11 because I talked to them about it.

My mother was working in Washington, she remembers the plane flying overhead, that’s the last plane she heard that day.

Rest in peace to every mom, dad, son, daughter, lover, friend, family member, and person who were affected by 9/11. Whether they died or were injured, they will always be remembered as a loved one, a brave soul, and a great person. Rest easy

these popular kids a grade above me were laughing at the sound of that instrument a girl was playing. mind you, they were laughing at a ceremony about where 2,998 people lost their lives. (my school does a ceremony every year)

I find it interesting that the sound of bagpipes playing has been somewhat synonymously turned into the sound of remembrance
