ABU DHABI CROWN PRINCE’S FAREWELL HANDSHAKE GOES VIRAL A small exchange at the end of an official visit to India has drawn wide attention online. Footage shows Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi @khaled_uae , turning to shake hands with his Indian driver and thank him before leaving New Delhi. It came at the close of two days of diplomacy. He led the UAE delegation at the 18th BRICS Summit, held in the Indian capital on 12 and 13 September under the theme Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability, on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House, reviewing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and closer economic integration. On the margins he also met President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Kassym Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia. The delegation included Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, and Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation. Summit discussions centred on financial cooperation and the energy transition. The UAE, a full member since January 2024, took part for the third time.
