Hi it’s me :
Long story short, there was a time where I had frequent UTIs. I went to a urologist and she prescribed me pelvic floor therapy. At first, I was like sounds so stupid, but I did go to the therapy. And it changed my life. It is insane how we are not talking these things from the beginning.

Today my therapist just told me that she thought it would be beneficial for me to work on my pelvic floor because I happened to mention my lower (SI) joint was bothering me. We talked more and she sent a referral for a pelvic floor PT. I start with them next week. She thinks it will be two fold 1)help with my pain 🤞🏻2) help with my stored “trauma” (I paraphrased our convo). I left feeling so good because I’m getting a multidisciplinary approach and I love that!!

Some people who suffer from pelvic floor pain can find relief by doing breathing exercises. Not like meditation or yoga, but actual physiotherapy! A lot of issues are connected to how we breathe since it affects muscles all over our body. First time I tried them it made my entire back hurt sooo bad😭 (apparently I take too shallow breaths)

Hello 🙋🏻‍♀️Would you mind sharing your thoughts on the vagus nerve reset by a physical therapist? I’ve tried to do it myself but I genuinely feel like it hasn’t helped. I have CPTSD and an autoimmune condition. I feel tense majority of the day, literally in fight or flight mode 😮‍💨

My son has the trifecta and comorbidities,AuDHD, and CCI with vagus nerveissues. He often tells me he can't relax his pelvic floor or he would be incontinent in all ways.

Ahhhh so what does it mean then when on my exam when they poked me with a pin and I started giggling hysterically? My poor Dr and RN were already like oh heck this bad, but had never experienced something like that. 😅

it's so dangerous (and often mean) to tell someone w chronic pain to meditate/try to get anxiety/ stress under control... but 16 years in, I get it. it does help (w mast cells, adrenaline and now this)

So I’ve had lifelong trauma from a limb length difference and having eds would it be theory for my pudendal to do the autonomic issue plus my emotions as my short leg causes spinal issues and unfortunately severely affects my muscle tone and I get sometimes stressed dr called it physiological dissociation

Learning to control my pelvic floor was mind blowing. My pelvic floor therapist is who clued me into my pain being the result of trauma.

@Dr. Grace | hEDS, pelvic floor I am not convinced I have heds- but I was told I’m on a hyper mobile spectrum. Recently I developed interstitial cystitis - overactive pelvic floor muscle (making me feel like I always have a full bladder) taking tolteridine 4 mg every night. My BP, & temp control are more labile. Do you think I should look into a dysautonomia dx?
