quitting my job was one of the hardest but most meaningful decisions i’ve made in my 20s 🥹 if anyone is looking to do the same or considering making a big career transition, here are some resources / things that helped me navigate this decision: 🌟 ikigai — a japanese concept / framework that helps find the intersection of (1) what you love (2) what you're good at (3) what the world needs and (4) what you can be paid for ~ I’ve used this in the past by creating a Venn diagram to see the intersection of the four (the center is where you find your “ikigai” or if you don’t have one to listen to, I shamelessly will plug one of my favorite @soju with sarah episodes that I filmed with my boyfriend @jung who quit his job last year (topics: pursuing your passions, risk vs. reward, navigating stability changes, creative freedom & what it means to take a bet on yourself) ~ it is SO helpful to hear advice and wisdom for people you admire, because many decisions don’t happen in a vacuum and often come from the motivation of someone who’s walked the same, or a desired, path before 🌟 NOTE: quitting your job is a decision that comes with a lot of financial planning and I think it’d be irresponsible of me to not mention the importance of critically looking at your finances & determining what your runway is for making life / career transitions! there’s so much self work I’ve done on on scarcity vs. abundance mindset, self-limiting beliefs, etc. that I didn’t get to mention in this video so I wanted to say that I shared a much longer video on YouTube ❤️ (if anyone wants to hear these thoughts out loud) and lastly, thank you for being here! regardless of where you found me, I appreciate you & I hope you stick along for the full journey 🙂" width="135" height="240">
