@shaquita.k: Two kids, 14 months apart IS NOT for the weak… so here we are taking senior pictures AGAIN. 😂🥹 But moments like this always make me think about the younger version of me. I was a teen mom trying to raise children while I was still growing up myself. I didn’t have all the answers. I made mistakes. I learned. I adjusted. And most importantly, I kept showing up. Now one of my babies is in college and I’m watching another one prepare to graduate high school. 🥹 Parenting has taught me that you don’t have to get everything right to raise good kids. You DO have to be willing to grow with them. Apologize when you’re wrong. Change what isn’t working. Learn your child instead of assuming one parenting style fits them all. And understand that sometimes the parent has growing to do too. I’m extremely proud of the young man Travis is becoming. Parents, especially my younger parents: Don’t judge your entire parenting story by the chapter you’re currently in. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep showing up. You might be raising your children…but they’re going to grow you too.
