@lizzierebuilds: I know I look like a hot mess but it’s been a rough few weeks 😅, I think I need to pamper myself soon because we are still going to be working hard on my home. I’m not giving up. #cleaningtiktok #satisfyingcleans #cleaningmotivation #CleanTok

Make sure when you get all that fixed you have the walls checked for mold 🩷 if it’s leaking that means water is inside the house. Better safe than sorry. Sending all my love!! 🩷

Are your downspouts buried into the ground? We had to cut ours off at the ground and place them on top of the ground and haven’t had an issue. It’s not as clean looking but dry!

If your downspot goes into the ground, put food coloring in your down spout and hit it with the hose. That will tell you where the water is coming in.

I do believe that the foundation and the house are what need to be looked at and repaired even if the grading of the yard isn’t perfect. The house should not be leaking. You can fix the grading, but the leak or the seeping will continue.

Had the same issue years back.. ended up having to dig around the whole perimeter of the house, sealing the foundation, putting rock all around it and a sump pump on the outside corner of the house to push it away 🥴

We had the same issue and had to professionally waterproof the basement. It was expensive but our basement is dry now.

I am a real estate developer and property manager and I think you are amazing! You helped me by reminding me its ok to do micro habits! I have many recommendations. The grading is definitely the first step. But there are other things you can do! I would love to help you if I can and you are interested in help. Love your attitude!

Grading, buried downspouts are good also to move water away from the foundation and also a sump pump. You definitely need a reputable co to come and assess your situation. Stay positive. At least your basement is not finished.

Purchase a protective screening for your new gutters—this will keep any type of debris from clogging your gutters. Hang in there!

This makes a lot of sense now. In your other videos I thought perhaps the wood looked rotted or molded. I'd try to replace some of the wood if is moldy! I'd also get an industrial fan to try to dry it out down there. If the roots of the house go out, the structural integrity of everything on top can be damaged later on.

That's a great idea. I hope they can help. Getting the water yo drain away from the house will help. Maybe a French drain. But, you may also need to do some work on sealing the basement from the outside.

best quick fix attach black pipe to the bottom of your downspouts and run it at least 15-20ft from the base of the house. that should get you by until you figure out the gradibg issues. one thing to note, water proof the basement walls are not always the best idea. if you often get a lot of rain or have a high water table, a sealed basment can, but not always, start to heave or lean due to exess pressure from the water. sometimes its best to focus on drainage and add a sump pit.
