@hedefapsychologyclinic: What happens after a BPD episode is often just as intense as the episode itself. Someone may suddenly go quiet, isolate, over-apologize, feel overwhelming shame, replay everything they said, or act like nothing happened because they don’t know how to repair the situation. That doesn’t mean the impact of their behaviour doesn’t matter. It means understanding what happens after the emotional intensity comes down can help create space for accountability, repair, and healthier coping. If you have BPD, the goal isn’t to shame yourself after an episode. It’s to understand your patterns, regulate your nervous system, take responsibility where needed, and learn what to do differently next time. 🤎 Which one do you relate to most? #BPD #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder #BPDRecovery #DBT #MentalHealth

I just need reassurance 24/7. Once I get that reassurance I’m back like nothing happened

I am SO GLAD you touched on #4 because as someone with BPD, I feel the emotional numbness isn't talked about enough!! . and to add to the emotional numbness, you feel exhausted, physically and mentally drained, weak, possibly tired/fatigued. . thank you for touching on the points that feel more taboo to talk about, because you've helped me feel seen, acknowledged, and heard, and I'm sure there will be more who will also feel the same 🥹

Honestly, what’s the best kind of therapy for someone with BPD? They diagnose me at about 18 and then never followed up with help.

could you tell me about forgetting please. After episodes I don't remember it's fuzzy blank like my mind has been wiped. unless I'm told an memory jogged to where a little will come back like a flash black. why does this happen.

This is the best explanation I've seen of a BPD episode aftermath on any social media platform. I was diagnosed when I was 17 but my doctor believes I've had it for years it's had just been left undiagnosed for a very long time.
