@harbin_shs: Every year, we have the same massive expense hanging over us as winter approaches. COAL. Our safehouse, like homes and buildings all across Harbin, is heated using coal. It’s one of the reasons Harbin’s pollution gets so bad during winter, but when temperatures can drop to -30°C, heating isn’t optional. From October until April, we have to heat the safehouse. Every year we end up rushing to fundraise at the last minute because the reality is simple: without coal, our dogs will freeze. And this year, I personally cannot handle the stress of waiting until the final hour So I’m starting in September. We need to raise $40,000 for this winter’s coal. I want to get it paid, get the coal secured and have ONE enormous yearly expense crossed off my list so I can concentrate on food, medical bills and everything else that comes with caring for 1,500 dogs. It sounds like a huge number, but… If 8,000 people donated just $5, we’d be DONE. $5 from 8,000 people = $40,000 and a warm safehouse from October through April.
