@cocoonandcradle: The latch mistake most mums make feeding lying down (and how to fix it) 🧡 This is the one you've all been waiting for. How to actually get a great latch while breastfeeding lying down. The number one thing I hear? "I can feed really well sitting up, but the moment I lie down, the latch just doesn't feel right." Nine times out of ten, it comes down to three small things: 1️⃣ Nose to nipple. The biggest mistake I see is baby being too high up in the bed, so their mouth aims over the nipple and you get a shallow, painful latch. Move baby down so their nose (not their mouth) is roughly at nipple height. This gives them a little head tilt, chin hitting the breast first, and a much deeper, comfier latch. 2️⃣ Super-glued to you. No gaps. Tummy to mummy, baby on their side in a straight line from head to toe. Never on their back with their head turned. If there's a gap between you, the latch falls apart. 3️⃣ Support the shoulders, not the head. Supporting behind the head makes babies pull back and fight it. Support behind the shoulder blades instead, and let them come onto the breast themselves. Nose to nipple. Super-glued. Support the shoulders. Fix those three and you fix most latch problems lying down. Next in the series, switching sides without getting up (I promise something in there will surprise you). Follow along so you don't miss it. And because SO many of you have been asking, I'm putting together the full step-by-step masterclass on breastfeeding lying down so we can really dive deep. 📌 Head to the link in bio to join the waitlist for first access 💬 Did this help? i love feeding side lying 🥰 but does someone Else baby is gassy and when you put him on his side all his air is coming out and he is making weird movements because of the cramps that's makes it harder to latch him?
And yess he is hungry at the same time. I saw one other video to Point your nipple 90 degrees pointed to his nose, and this helps for him to latch better (because he is not always opening his mouth Very wide), not working always.. so sometimes it Hurts, but because of the cramps he is also Hurt and crying, and because i feel sad for him i let hem eat.
but the 90 degrees pointed nipple really helps for him to latch better most of the time 🥰

Okay soooo I have quite large breasts and sidelying worked so well when I was engorged, but once my supply finally settled my babe couldn’t latch well because my breasts would kinda elongate across the bed and alter my nipple shape and make it hard for her to stay latched if that makes sense. Any suggestions??

My baby kicks himself off me and can’t quite get his position correct (squirmy when moving him down to the right position) and definitely a shallow latch.. I think it’s also affected his latch in more upright chair positions too because he has preferred a shallow latch since starting to try side lying 😰 ideas?
