There used to be another theater, the Berwyn theater on cermak Ridgeland when I was a kid also where McDonald’s is used to be a department store called Troy’s

This theatre was bult in 1926-1927. Sokol Slavsky Gymnasium Association to be part of a larger complex for socialization and Athletics it was a ballroom then a movie theater then live venue 1937 it became a move house untill 1993 in 2000 it was renamed Concorda and hosted mainly Spanish language programs. March 2008 new owner reopened and Olympic and hosted live shows. 2018 closes because of smoke damage caused by a fire . Jan 2023 word comes down that it will reopen and it does May 2023 reopened as a classic move venue it shows CASABLANCA it goes on with classic movies and live theater in till April 2023 when I closed and was labeled a "DANGEROUS STRUCTURE" my understanding who ever takes it over it not just the theater it's the whole block all the stores attached to it also. thank you for posting this great job

I used to rent from the guy who bought it and he also bought Wishing Well restaurant. They raised our rent quite a bit when they took over. We moved a few months later.
