for years, i thought becoming profitable was about finding a better strategy. it wasn’t. my strategy was good enough - my ability to execute it consistently wasn’t. i was overstimulated, impatient, constantly looking for action, checking pnl, chasing losses and taking trades because doing nothing felt uncomfortable. eventually, i stopped asking “what’s wrong with my strategy?” and started asking a completely different question: why do i react this way when i trade? that sent me down a rabbit hole. i started deep-diving into the human brain, the nervous system, dopamine, reward anticipation, stress and emotional regulation. i wanted to understand why i could know exactly what i was supposed to do, yet behave completely differently once money, uncertainty and potential reward were involved. the more i learned, the more my behaviour started to make sense. so instead of trying to overpower those reactions with discipline, i started changing the conditions i was asking my brain to perform in. i stopped checking social media before trading, stopped trading from my phone and stopped trading multiple accounts at once. i drastically reduced my position size so each market movement created less emotional pressure, and i started taking sleep, exercise, breathing and my pre-market routine much more seriously so i could enter the session calmer and more focused. i also reduced screen time and constant stimulation. not because i was trying to “detox dopamine,” but because i wanted to become more comfortable with lower stimulation — waiting, sitting still and not needing something to happen every few seconds. slowly, trading started to feel different. less exciting, less emotional, less addictive and much more boring. and that was exactly what i needed. i stopped trying to fight my biology inside the market and started designing my routine around how attention, stress and reward actually work. i used what i was learning to create an environment where patience became easier, losses felt less threatening and doing nothing no longer felt like a problem. that became one of the biggest shifts in my trading. because sometimes your edge isn’t another setup — it’s understanding the brain that has to execute it. i’m sharing all the tips, biohacks and lessons i learned along the way, so follow for more if you’re ready to change the way you trade. #tradingforbeginners #tradingpsychology #daytrading #tradingjourney #tradingmindset
