Today, I became an American citizen. 🇺🇸 And somehow, that still doesn’t feel like enough words to describe what today meant to me. I came to this country with dreams, with hope, and with no idea just how much my life would change. Today, I stood in my Army uniform, raised my hand, took my oath, and officially became a citizen of the country I now have the honor of serving. But today was even bigger than that. It was also Family Day—the day I finally got to see my family again after completing one of the hardest journeys of my life in Army Basic Training. There were days I was exhausted. Days I missed home. Days I questioned how much more I had in me. But I kept going. And then today, I saw Monami. ❤️ After all the long days, the training, the early mornings, the ruck marches, the stress, the tears, and the sacrifices… I finally got to stand beside my husband again—not only as a Soldier, but as a brand-new American citizen. I will never forget the look on his face, the flowers in my arms, or the feeling of knowing that the people I love were there to witness this chapter of my life. I am still the girl who came from the Philippines with big dreams. But today, I am also a United States Soldier and an American citizen. Tomorrow is graduation, but today already feels like one of the greatest victories of my life. To everyone who encouraged me, prayed for me, supported our family, and followed this journey—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Dreams really can take you farther than you ever imagined. Keep going, even when the road gets hard. 🇵🇭❤️🇺🇸 — Mia #MiaAndMonami #AmericanCitizen #USArmy #ArmyFamily #filipinoamerican - @miaandmonami
