Okay… so think for a second… anthropic, open.ai, x, google all run ai development and have their own “frontier” models… this guy from anthropic leaves the company… unknown how long he’s been at anthropic. Puts out a alarmist story… which is on a cnn interview, does interviews with every news broadcaster he can… so he’s essentially made it all about himself while also creating “mass panic” due to his immaturity. The chief engineer/scientist at anthropic came out and also had some caution about ASI but presented the information in a non alarmist fashion… also correcting this fellow… so you gotta ask… if this is such a hot button issue among scientists/researchers at these companies why is such a small sample size making people jump the gun… it would make sense if the there was a strong consensus among, open.ai, Google, anthropic, X… scientists and researchers actively working on frontier models… not just a handful of workers from the same company or outside of that group ai watch group enthusiasts .
