I just found this hidden gem on 5th ave and E 48th street of all places. Church of Sweden has this beautiful cafe inside that has been newly renovated and feels extremely welcoming. It’s a place you can relax, drink coffee, read some books, enjoy a variety of imported Swedish treats, but more importantly, try some Swedish pastries like this tasty cinnamon bun available all year. I also learned about this traditional and seasonal pastry called a Semla. It’s a cardamom spiced bun with almond fillings, whipped cream and powdered sugar.
