I came home from vacation 3 days ago only to find out the person who was supposed to be caring for her let her out 2 days after I left. LET HER OUT! We live in the woods. I am so beyond devastated. She thought my cat would just come back. 😭😭☠️

And the cat isn’t fixed, chipped or have any shots. And they get mad someone saves them and gives them a safe home with vet care.

I live in a neighborhood on a mountain. There’s coyotes everywhere and at least 3 HOA FB posts a week of missing outdoor cats… like what are we doing??

I have 2 cats who absolutely not will be in the house, but I live on a. Road with 0 traffic (old dirt logging road) we have 0 neighbors and they are both altered, but the rest of my cats are indoor. Some cats are just not happy with being indoors. My female cat that refuses to be in our house actually knocked our tv over to try and get out through the window. What would you do in that situation? She was born inside and raised inside til she 2 and then after that she wanted nothing to do with being an indoor cat anymore. She and my male cat refuse to stay inside if we bring them in.

Agreed. If your cat likes to be outdoors, make a catio. Then at least it’s confined safely.

my neighbors won't see this but if their cat went missing i probably lured it in and took it to the shelter. no chip? probably got spayed and adopted out. I don't feel guilty.

If I’m feeding an outdoor cat, it’s only a stray I haven’t coaxed into trusting me enough to nab it yet. The last one I did this to ran from doors once I had her inside, she was not about to go back to that life.

we have coyotes in our neighborhood, and also a stray cat problem because of a hoarder up the street that finally got evicted last year, my neighbors have caught and worked with a shelter to rehome or TNR and move about a hundred cats from our immediate area and I have zero clue if any of them were someone's actual pets but if they were? that's on them for letting their cats outside, ESPECIALLY sans microchip...

I moved to Ireland and everyone’s cats roam outdoors here. I hate watching them kill all the birds and critters in our garden.

Cats are natural hunters what you are suggesting is a kin to I don’t let my children outside bc something may happen to them. Now I let my cats outside but I have a fenced in yard only one jumps over. But they all come in every night. They are so much happier now that I allow them outside. You do what is best for the animal, not you. That’s being a good pet parent.

Because if I keep him inside he will pee on my bed, the couch, rugs, clothing on the floor. He peed on my pillow and face when I was sleeping. I tried to keep him inside but he was not having it.

a relative made an amazing catio, fully screened in, the cats used to be outdoors and when they stopped doing that, they made the catio as a way they can still be sort of outside. Cats love it, highly recommend! A few folks I know also harness trained their cats, they go on walks just like a dog, some cats will really enjoy that ❤️
