Golden Milk (Turmeric Milk) Golden milk, also known as turmeric milk, is a traditional Indian beverage rich in minerals that has been a part of Indian culture for many years. Turmeric, or haldi, naturally contains anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties, making it a valuable source of natural health benefits. This spice has been a staple in kitchens for centuries, not only adding a vibrant yellow color but also enhancing the flavor of dishes. When combined with milk, turmeric creates a powerful wellness drink enjoyed by people all over the world. Adding other spices like ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper to golden milk not only enhances its flavor but also boosts its health benefits. Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory and digestive properties, while cinnamon adds a touch of sweetness and warmth. Black pepper helps to enhance the absorption of curcumin in turmeric, maximizing its potential health benefits. 1 & 1/2 cup of unsweetened milk of your choice . One teaspoon of turmeric (fresh or powdered) One grated fresh ginger. (You can also use half tsp of ginger powder) 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder or Cinnamon stick Pinch of black pepper One teaspoon of honey (optional) To make golden milk, start by heating 1/2 cup of unsweetened milk of your choice in a saucepan. Add one teaspoon of turmeric (fresh or powdered), grated fresh ginger (or half a teaspoon of ginger powder), 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder (or a cinnamon stick), a pinch of black pepper, and a teaspoon of honey (optional) for added sweetness. Bring the milk to a boil and then simmer for 7-8 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Strain the turmeric milk into mugs using a fine strainer and top with a pinch of cinnamon for an extra touch of flavor. Enjoy this warm and comforting drink as a soothing beverage with numerous health benefits. Link of glass kettle in my bio.
