@girlsschoolbooks: If you're interested in learning what you can do with Substack, follow this series about how to use Substack, what's worked and what hasn't, how I monetize and why, and the weird, successful experiments I’ve tried. There’s always something to learn. This is not a substack about substack! This is a love letter to Girls’ School Book Club. #substack #bookclub #monetizing #entrepreneur #books
Has the combination of TikTok and Substack worked better than Substack alone for subscribers? What are the best ways to make them complement each other? And if you don’t make other social media content, how would you recommend attracting subscribers?

How do we decide the topic of our substack? Im sure some topics are more profitable than others

Dawn | Pattern Break Advisor :
I started a Substack with the reversed background. I came in as a business leader and entrepreneur with no writing background. I love being creative and finding the roads less traveled to bring my visions to life. I started with a newsletter and now the possibilities are endless and I have made Substack my main hub as I build out my Private Advisory. Funny part is… I kept thinking to myself should I start a book club? And that thought led me to the rabbit hole of a variety of features. I’m still learning the platform and working out the kinks.

I really enjoy reading and have recently wanted to start writing and I have been thinking about starting a substack about my journey learning to write. My biggest hurdle is what my first post would even say and if this is even a good topic to make a substack about

I limit myself to 5 subs (or else I would sub to everyoneeee) and you’re one because the value and sheer intelligence I gain from reading your work is so so incredible. I’m really looking forward to this series though as a (obvi) a big reader and writer who wants to grow my own Substack and am struggling trying to find my specific niche or path forward

I think what people find and are interested in is the community around books and like minded projects.

i love substack! i use mine to write about the creative process of pop culture figures and how you (writers!) can use theirs as a blueprint for your own. starting end of this year or beginning of 2027 i’ll be bringing mythology and archetypes into it. My love in life is helping people create & refine their creative process so they can remain in flow. 🥰

do I have to just do one niche? I teach more about tech and engineering but would also love to do other stuff..

This is interesting. Is it like a community group too? Because I’ve been looking into Skool for a book club since it’s so interactive

I’ve honestly been debating it the past month or two. I think it just feels overwhelming and where do I start? But I’ve been taking baby steps in that direction.

I have wondered how the business side was going, but didn’t want to ask. I feel like I am getting quality brain food for my buck, & I love the discussion threads. We all bring such different backgrounds to the table, & it’s a joy to have a critical & feminist book gang

I love this book club idea! I am starting a book club for the parents of my elementary students as part of their tuition benefits but I would love to have a way to open that up to others.
