I’m pretty proud of finding this swap for the cost savings alone!!! 😱 If you regularly buy microwave rice pouches for convenience, swapping to this frozen pre-cooked rice will save you a small fortune 😆 AND you’ll be cutting out the added oils which is just simply unnecessary to be having in our rice! Regardless of the debate around seed oils being prevalent in packaged foods, the reality is oils are the most calorie-dense food out there. You won’t find a more calorie dense food than an oil and this goes for all oils. And so if we can find an option that doesn’t contain added oils when they’re completely unnecessary in that food, then that will only ever be a good thing for our health! That is why I love this swap away from the microwave pouches which all contain rice + oil, to the frozen pre-cooked rice which only contains rice + water! Just like when you’re cooking rice from scratch at home! As I mention in the reel, cooking your own rice will always be preferable BUT I also get the need for convenience at times and so if you are going to buy pre-cooked rice then this frozen rice at Dunnes is a great swap!
