I was there in 2006 with my high school choir. Walked down the steps to the memorial sight that was there. There were still building the had holes and tarps over windows. There were bulldozers in the dig area. The area has a fence that surrounded it with pictures of the towers and that day. I didn't occur to me where I was standing. I even asked my friends why were we there at a construction sight. My friend turned to me and said Krysteena do you know where you're standing. I said no. She said go look and I saw all the poles and beams with hundreds and thousands of notes to loves ones, I remember one from a student to her teacher. Then like a tsunami, it hit me hard that was standing right in the middle of where the towers stood and fell that day. I instantly began crying and getting emotional, my group surrounded me and gave me a huge group hug saying omg you really didn't realize. I remember saying how could people hate us so much.
