@perth.local: This Perth waterfall trail is looking gorgeous right now! 🌿💦 We're talking about Kitty's Gorge in Serpentine National Park - one of our absolute favourite bush walks and such a good spot to explore this time of year. The full trail is a solid 16km round trip, running from the Jarrahdale Cemetery carpark all the way to Serpentine Falls and back. It winds through native bush, granite outcrops and over bridges, following the Serpentine River and Gooralong Brook the whole way - a proper workout if you're up for it. This time though, we kept it simple and did the shorter 7km return version - just Jarrahdale to Gooralong Falls and back again. It's a much more manageable option if you're short on time or not quite up for a full 4-5 hour trek, and you still get to see some of the best scenery along the way. 😅 LOCAL TIP: Starting from Jarrahdale Cemetery gives you a gentler start, since the Serpentine Falls end is steeper and tougher going. Spring is such a good time to walk this trail - the yellow wattle is out, the wildflowers are just starting to bloom and the waterfalls are flowing. We also had the best surprise of the day: an echidna wandering right across the track in front of us! 🦔 Always such a treat spotting local wildlife out here. A few reminders if you're heading out: 🦮 Leave the dog at home - no pets allowed 🚻 Toilets are along the trail + Serpentine Falls 🕣 Serpentine Falls gates open 8.30am-5pm 🚮 Leave no trace - take your rubbish with you 💲 National Park fees apply if parking at Serpentine NP Consider this your sign to get outside this weekend! Wildflowers, waterfalls and fresh bush air - all just a short drive from Perth.
