Then, in 1971, he became the world’s youngest defence minister. But his biggest impact came later. As Crown Prince, he pushed Dubai toward tourism, technology, aviation, and business. Then came the bold bets. He backed Emirates’ aircraft expansion, launched Dubai Internet City, and helped drive projects like Palm Jumeirah and Dubai’s free zones. But turning a small trading city into a global destination required enormous risks. In 2006, he became Dubai’s ruler and UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister.
