🔥 STOP THROWING AWAY FOOD YOU COULD BE TURNING INTO PANTRY GOLD! 🔥 Your dehydrator can do SO much more than just fruit! If you’re growing a garden, preserving your harvest, or simply trying to save money, dehydrating is one of my favorite ways to make food shelf-stable and incredibly useful. 🌱 Here are some of the things you can dehydrate: 🥕 Carrots — soups, stews, casseroles & rice dishes 🌽 Corn — soups, chowders & casseroles 🫛 Peas — soups, stews & pot pies 🧅 Onions — virtually EVERYTHING! Soups, seasoning blends & sauces 🫑 Peppers — grind into flakes or powder, or add to soups 🍅 Tomatoes — tomato powder, soups, sauces & seasoning 🥬 Leafy greens — powders for smoothies, soups & sauces 🍄 Mushrooms — soups, gravies & sauces 🍎 Apples — snacks, oatmeal & baking 🍓 Berries — snacks, granola & baking 🌿 Herbs — seasoning blends, teas & cooking 🧄 Garlic — garlic powder & seasoning blends 🍌 Bananas — snacks & baking And one of my FAVORITE things to make? A homemade dehydrated soup mix! 🍲 🥕 EASY DEHYDRATED VEGETABLE SOUP MIX Use vegetables like: * Carrots * Corn * Peas * Green beans * Celery * Onions * Bell peppers 1️⃣ Prep: Wash, peel and chop everything into small, uniform pieces. 2️⃣ Blanch: Blanch vegetables that require it before dehydrating. This helps preserve quality and color. Drain and cool completely. 3️⃣ Dehydrate: Arrange vegetables in a single layer on dehydrator trays. Dehydrate at 125–135°F until they are completely dry and brittle with no moisture remaining. 4️⃣ Cool & store: Let everything cool completely before combining. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place. 5️⃣ Make soup: Add your desired amount of vegetable mix to broth or water. Add seasonings, beans, noodles, rice, or meat if desired. Simmer until the vegetables are tender and everything is heated through. 💡 TIP: You can make individual bags or jars of your favorite soup combinations so you have a homemade “just add water” meal ready whenever you need one! This is one of the reasons I LOVE preserving food. A garden harvest can become something you’re still using months later instead of something that goes to waste. ❤️ 👇 What would YOU dehydrate first? Tell me in the comments and save this post so you can come back to it when your harvest starts piling up! 🌱#dehydrated #preservingfood #harvest #garden #gardening
