Love that the loss of motor function and him dropping the mag was how he and we knew he was hit.

I see something completely different . What I see is him leaving his arm fully extended during a mag change. That would not be the case at all. His character would pull that weapon system back into his work space for this mag change. leaving your arm fully extended during a mag change is an amateur mistake that is corrected day one in any training program through out the past 30 years . This character would not be making this big of a mistake , based on weapons handling we see through the film.
