@kzncomsafety: 11 September 2026 PREMIER NTULI CALLS FOR URGENT RESOLUTION OF THE CHE GUEVARA HOME AFFAIRS OFFICE OCCUPATION BY FOREIGN IMMIGRANTS In a bid to expedite the unlawful occupation of the Che Guevara(Moor Road) Road Home Affairs Refugee Reception Center by foreign nationals claiming to be seeking a safe haven from being intimation by community members. KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli calls on Home Affairs officials to move with speed and efficiency and finalise the verification and repatriation process. Scores of foreign nationals from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi, Uganda, Mozambique and Tanzania have gathered outside the Home Affairs refugee reception center, citing being threatened by South Africans. The Honourable Premier called on the Diplomatic representatives of these immigrants to assist law enforcement, Home Affairs and other organs of state to ensure a smooth progress to reintegrate those who are willing and repatriate those who have undergone a verification process through Home Affairs. " All immigrants who have been verified by Home Affairs will be transported to a Lindela center, where they will then be repatriated to their coountries ". " The occupation on Che Guevara Road is in contravention of eThekwini Metro bylaws and poses a health risk. This conditions are not suitable for human habitation", added Ntuli. After receiving a comprehensive progress report from Home Affairs officials, Premier Ntuli says he is optimistic that the repatriation process will be efficiently expedited.
