@honeybhealing: Some people don’t know I’m a songwriter. 🎶 But this one didn’t come from me trying to write a song. It came from me finally feeling what I’ve been teaching. I wrote The Purge about the strange place you reach in healing where you know all the answers… but knowing doesn’t stop you from feeling the feelings. I hadn’t cried in almost three years. Somewhere along the way, my shadow stepped in to protect my heart. I could talk about healing. Teach healing. Understand trauma. Explain the patterns. Do the inner work. But there were still things inside of me that I understood intellectually and had never actually released emotionally. And eventually, there’s nowhere else for it to go. So now I’m purging. The tears. The anger. The shame. The grief. The parts of myself I thought I had already healed because I finally understood them. I’m learning that understanding your pain and releasing your pain are two different stages of healing. Sometimes inner work has to become outer release.
