not only did this heavily stereotype Asians- it also heavily stereotyped triplets. Cause like they were never seen apart from each other and in the original, nobody ever called them by their names or spoke to them individually. they were just always the “Chang triplets” like a collective led by a hive mind

Didn’t the show change the change triplets in the new version? I’m pretty sure they made them a lot more diverse and they even call out characters for assuming that they’re smart because they’re Asian.

the og proud family is weird a lot of the episodes were progressive and were meant to teach you about diversity and inclusion but at the same time they'd make use of a lot of stereotypes and tropes with the characters... i still loved it though

This is not defending but the whole show includes racism, stereotypes, colorism, and more. There are several parts that just aged very poorly and were attempts to be progressive, most of it is garbage though😭

It’s not hidden, they purposely show it to show awareness. In the older show, I would say the stereotypes were hurtful and unneeded, but in the rebooted one, they better bring awareness on how hurtful stereotypes, racism, homophobia, and other demeaning behaviors can be.
