@livekellyandmark: From @Michael Gelman: It was minutes before air on September 11, 2001 when as part of my pre-show briefings, I walked into Regis’ office and saw the WABC news report that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. There was smoke coming from the building.   I said to him, "This doesn’t look like an accident.” After huddling with Regis and Kelly just before they walked out, we decided to forgo our usual light chat and instead follow what was unfolding live. Regis and Kelly began talking about what we were seeing in real time on the live video feed. At first, none of us on the team understood the horrors of what was actually happening. About 11 minutes into the show, we handed off the show to local and national news to continue covering the breaking story. We sent the guests and audience home and all tried to figure out how to connect with our loved ones. What we are sharing is a deeply personal clip for all of us at “Live,” as we discovered the terrorist attack on our country. In the days that followed, we were pre-empted by news coverage. When we finally came back “live” a week later, our goal was to provide some small relief and unity with our shell-shocked country.    We will NEVER forget and will always remember and revere those who we lost and those who served that day and for years after.  The “Live” family stands with all Americans on this sacred 25th anniversary.
