@skynews: "I was just pointing up to the top of the building with my mouth wide open." A paramedic who rushed to the World Trade Center on 11 September has recalled the moment he stood "mouth wide open" as the first tower burned. #SkyNews #US #911
Fyi, my daughters middle school had NO mention of 9/11 yesterday. Not even in history. Makes me furious

They really need to raise the paramedic pay. We pay them so pathetically in the United States

Is this the woman who was hit by the landing gear? I remember learning about a woman who was missing most of her back because she had been hit by the landing gear of the plane

I heard a survivor story and he said some of the people that were coming out the windows probably didn't even mean to go out the windows bc of the air pressure sucking things out of the windows, some people might have been sucked out😔 so sad

I believe she was one of the first patients from the towers and ended up being the last to leave the hospital because it took so long for her to heal. She had 50+ surgeries. A coworker stayed with her when they escaped the building, he said when the second plane crashed what looked like a piece from the airplane was coming straight at him but instead hit the woman besides him, he thought she was dead but when he found out she was alive tried to help her get up only to feel like her skin was peeling off and he could touch inside her body. He stayed with her until he heard the sirens of the ambulance coming down the street and told them she needed help. NatGeo documentary has the full story

God bless all of the heroic people who lost their lives or put their lives on the line to help people. To hear of the stories that these people didn’t think twice about it, some running to help from miles away, some who made it out of the building and went back in to help more, people who never left the building to try to get as many people out as possible, all of these people are absolute heroes and deserve the upmost respect. I can’t even begin to fathom experiencing anything like this, but I would hope that I would be brave enough and selfless enough to sacrifice my life to help others this way. What a tragic but beautiful reminder of how humanity can be and how much we can truly love even strangers🙏

This sort of thing gets me choked up, both for him and Debbie. I was I think 8 when it happened, and my comprehension of what it all entailed was definitely not there. I’m constantly learning new stories and things about what happened and it breaks my heart. But there’s also the heroes like Frank and that also warms my heart.
