this doesn't go for everyone but in a way everything does happen for a reason, I lost my mum a year ago and trust me it was hard... but maybe it was her time... maybe it was the decisions she made... it does add up to everything happening for a reason... because if we didn't have a reason then nothing would have meaning.. we would be confused and lost and angry. so yes it does happen for a reason... I didn't want to see my mum die... but this year had showed me a lot more than it did last year..

As someone who’s been through trauma I’ve found the only way out to be existentialism. It DID happen for a reason, it happened so I could be the person I needed to be and help those who are going through the same thing and don’t have anyone just like I didn’t. I’d be a plain Jane boring ass dude if I didn’t go through all my trauma and as a result I’ve been able to help several children who are going through abuse get out of that abuse with someone by their side.

I think we find reasons after things have happened because as humans we’re too insecure to admit what we thought and wanted to happen didn’t happen and we can’t think of a valid reason as to why it happened so we blame it on coincidence

i have it tattooed on my arm but even sometimes i doubt the phrase. Just depends how you look at certain things.

i still stay “everything happens for a reason” despite all my trauma. i think it’s my coping mechanism. instead of facing it head on i try to think that it did happen for a reason. that there was always a reason for all the fkd up stuff i had to go through my whole life.

I don’t think I’d change a single thing I went through. I wouldn’t be the same person I am today with it. Yes I have some trauma that shows up sometimes. I’m working on it. But the good outweighs the bad. And somehow it’s mostly come bad. Funny how that works.

This!! If everything happens for a reason then tell me what the ppl who get murdered or rped did to deserve that or why it happened? Tell me why kids die in war and what they did? Why people get I’ll or die or sickness? Disabilities? Etc… people only say that quote when they didn’t experience anything in life….
