THE CITY HALL SPEECH🏛️ Today, I stood outside Toronto City Hall with a message from Etobicoke North: Our homes are NOT City Hall's ATM. Almost $11 million in estimated costs associated with unused software licences identified by Toronto's Auditor General. Rising household costs. Postal codes punished with some of Toronto's highest auto-insurance premiums. Property taxes climbing while families are counting every dollar at the grocery store. Today I laid out what ALIGN. and Toronto OS™ mean for Ward 1: — Fight to roll back aggressive property-tax increases and pursue a four-year municipal tax-rate freeze. — Challenge postal-code auto-insurance pricing and fight for relief for Etobicoke North drivers. — Audit and eliminate City Hall waste before asking taxpayers for more. — Build a 24/7 AI-assisted Constituency Concierge: technology handles the intake; people deliver the accountability. — Bring a new generation of ideas, technology and accountability into municipal government. — Build a cleaner, safer, more beautiful Etobicoke North through Bio Harmony Toronto™. And accountability starts with me. City Council approved a controversial 24% increase in councillor compensation. I'm refusing the personal financial benefit of that increase. If elected, I intend to redirect an equivalent amount from my own compensation toward eligible Ward 1 community initiatives through a transparent and legally compliant process. Before I ask taxpayers to sacrifice, I'll start with myself. And yes 😂 — you'll hear me say “24” in the video instead of “24 percent.” Live speech. No teleprompter. No second take. I meant the 24% compensation increase. Consider this the footnote. Most importantly, thank you to the Ward 1 constituents who came downtown, those who stood with me on camera and those who preferred to support from behind the camera. I heard you.
