she’s specifically analysing the political institution of heterosexual intercourse under patriarchy, arguing that the act itself is used to maintain male dominance over women. while she doesn’t view queer relationships through that exact same lens, she focuses on heterosexuality because she believes it’s the primary mechanism through which women’s systemic subordination is maintained. without patriarchy, penetration wouldn’t be tied to dominance and control, but under the patriarchy we live in, it is tied to that. & she never said women shouldn’t be having sex with men – she’s always been very explicit about her wish that women would make more informed choices about the sex they choose to have, that they need to deconstruct their understanding of it, their kinks, the men they choose to engage with, etc.
