I always point out that the WOMEN, were the first to share the good news, WOMEN were the ones who went to care for Jesus while the disciples ran in fear, and Jesus appeared to WOMEN first. The men didn’t beleive that Christ had risen at first, but WOMEN did.

Growing up (in the 1970's) we had female priests. One road her Harley to church every Sunday. She was amazing. So was her wife.

for me the no women argument with the catholic church ends with Maria Magdalena. she was a very trusted follower of Jesus, the Apostles all knew her very well and knew she was with jesus for a long time and she was the one chosen by the lord himself to spread the news of the resurrection. what did she get? a decorative title and a whole slander campaign in the middle ages. Paul was known for hunting down Christians and when he came up to the Apostles Peter gave him the rank of an apostle after spending two days with him, completely believing his story about Christ even so he thought a way more radical version of Jesus teachings then any other Apostel. if that doesn't sound like bias against women to you not even the lord can help you.

serious question. i am NOT christian, but would like to read an accurate translation of the bible. my kids are interested in christianity, and if i’m going to read them the bible i want it to be as accurate as possible and as uninfluenced by the prejudices that seem to plague other translations. any suggestions?

I am a woman who is an ordained minister, and no man has the right to tell me that God’s call to me is not genuine. To ignore God’s call would be turning away from the life God was calling me to lead!

Woman here. When I was in middle school at a Christian school I was asked to present to the elementary convocation one week as a student leader. Some parents held their children back from convocation because a woman was speaking. Those same children came up to me later to tell me why I shouldn’t be speaking in church.

I understand the evidence Biblically that it is okay for women to be pastors. have to admit, I wasnt taught that growing up. this is a new thing for me to accept, and I really am always trying to study and be more open to learning things that I had originally thought one way and have later realized that my way of thinking was wrong. but Paul did tell Timothy that a pastor should be the husband of one wife. and I've always been taught that meant that a pastor not only was a role meant exclusively for a man, I was also taught that means if the pastor ever gets divorced or his wife dies that he can never remarry. in fact a pastor that I have known all my life's wife left him (for a man she met on the video game World of Warcraft; I've always thought that was funny) and he was fired as the pastor of the church he was pastor of, and the baptist group that my church and his were part of would no longer allow him to preach in any of the churches in that group. he wasnt even allowed to teach Sunday school. I guess i just wanted to see what your, and anyone else who would like to reply, thoughts are concerning this passage and how this pastor was treated?

Years and years ago, I sat on a committee to hire a new pastor and we had a woman that was eventually hired. I was opposed to it because “the Bible”. 🤦♂️I am so glad I was overruled by other members of the committee. She was such a blessing and a phenomenal leader. She taught us so much, and to this day is someone I look up to and respect. I am embarrassed by what I believed and I am so thankful that people like her, like you, and so many others are passionate leaders who take the time to help people like me break free from those lies. 💚💚💚
