Thank you for scaring me, first slide too. My mom has COPD. She's always on a breathing machine or hitting a inhaler. My little brother took his life in 2013, my dad followed 2 years later. It's just me and my mom. I try to spend as much time with her as I can. She's a super strong woman for sure. She was dating a guy for a while, he was constantly making everything worse for her. He was an alcoholic, he didnt do these things intentionally to harm her, he's just a drunk idiot. He had gas fumes going into their camper for 5 days. He constantly dropped things and she would get hurt. Broke her foot, TWICE! Cracked her jaw. Every time she went somewhere with him on vacation she came back sick or upset. She would be in bed coughing for days after she went to his house or went on vacation with him. I had gotten her to quit smoking, she'd leave with him and come back with cigarettes. She's separated from him now, they still talk but she knows better. She bought her own home and moved out of his a couple years ago. She lives much closer to me now. He had a major medical thing recently and his kids gave him the wrong medication times and he almost died from taking it wrong. My mom's a nurse, so she helped him during that time. He was supposed to quit drinking, I'm not sure how that's going. If he wants to live longer he's gonna have to. She's quit smoking for quite a while now, over a year. She uses those nicotine lip pouch things. She was smoking 1 to 2 packs. I was surprised she only wanted the 2 mg ones and she been fine with those. If a doctor is saying that, I mean it's hard to see her struggling how she is now, and it gets worse? She's very active and seems okay lately, but she gets sick all the time. It's like she always has pneumonia. She seems better recently without that man, I just hope it stays that way. If she tries to go on another vacation with that man I'll have to ground her, take away her phone. 😭
