Signe Dillon :
THAT WAS ME, with my paternal grandparents! My grandmother used to get me a new Barbie doll, every week and/or new clothes and/or accessories, for Barbie and her friends. My grandparents always had a menagerie of animal, including chickens, ducks, goats, cows, pigs, horses, ponies, rabbits, cats, and dogs! My grandfather made a horse cart, for my pony, for me to ride in, as well as a fancy red and black saddle, with all the matching accoutrements. I had a sandbox and swing set, at their house. I had a TV, in the bedroom, where I slept, at their house. My grandmother had a plum tree, a fig tree, a pear tree, a crabapple tree, and grape vines. My grandmother was an EXCELLENT baker, and always had fresh baked goods. My grandmother read to me, every night. My grandfather rode horses and watched Westerns, on TV with me. My grandparents had an AWESOME front porch AND side patio. There were more children, with whom I could play, in my grandparents' neighborhood than my parents' neighborhood. My grandmother let me work in the yard, with her. (My parents paid people to work, in our yard, and didn't want me missing it up.🫤) My grandparents were more patient and even tempered, with me, than my parents. (To be fair, a lot of elderly people develop more patience, and become more even tempered, as they age. I know it certainly true, for me!) I was the first grandchild, of their only child: OF COURSE, THEY BELIEVED I COULD DO NO WRONG!WHO WOULDN'T rather spend more time with grandparents, like them?!
