he's wrong, this mentality is for people who thinks that after a date a girl owns them something because they bought food or they paid for something. it's a wrong mindset, dates are for you to know yourself a little more and it's up to both of you to choose a setting that is appropriate. we don't take a girl on a date to impress her but to try and present the best version of yourself to her, period.
